Hurt – Johnny Cash

Sinds ik de film Walk the Line heb gezien ben ik me meer bewust geworden van de waarde van Johnny Cash voor de muziekindustrie. Ik bedoel ik kende een groot aantal van zijn nummers al maar ik had nog nooit de moeite genomen er eens voor te gaan zitten en zijn nummers in te laten werken.

Dat was dus voor Walk the Line. Na die film heb ik de documentaire gezien ‘The Last Great American’ en daarin zie je aan het eind van de documentaire een heel oud aandoende – hij was toen ongeveer 70 – Cash die een nummer van Nine Inch Nails covert. Op een manier zoals hij alleen dat kan doen. Phenomenaal. De tekst vind je hieronder maar wat deze keer nog leuker is dat de videoclip helemaal onderaan staat. Enjoy.
